ST CUTHBERT'S CHURCH

Denomination: Anglican (Church of England)

St Cuthbert's church lies at the centre of the town next to the market place. The Church building dates from 1180 although the site has been the focus of Christian Worship and witness for over a thousand years.

Today St Cuthbert's congregation is made up of people living throughout the town. We are proud of our choral tradition and fine organ, which are put to use every Sunday at our services of Sung Eucharist and Evensong. However the church is also open for less formal services throughout the week while during the summer months our doors are open daily from 11.00 am to 2.00 pm to a constant stream of visitors.

We seek to extend a warm welcome to every one who steps through our West Door.
